Not as enthralling as her other books, but there's bound to be duds from time to time. ;)

This was one of those really bad books that I shouldn't have bothered to finish reading. I'm not sure why this author is known as the 'Queen of Suspense' but she apparently is. Lucky I only paid a dollar or two for it

Oh. My. Gosh. Insanely good. Clark is great at keeping you guessing about who-done-it until the very end. In fact, if I hadn't cheated and read a few paragraphs near the back I never could have put it together. All along I did have one feeling, though, that Ted couldn't have done it. It was for any particular reason in the book, I just thought it would make for a rather boring plot line if he had actually done it. Along the way I suspected everyone, which, I'm guessing was the authors goal. I've read a few of her books before, long ago, and I can't remember knowing who did it. My own investigative mother proved this by saying even SHE could never figure it out. I admire her writing style and have to admit she's going to be a BIG influence on any writing I do in the near or far future.

Only during a pandemic can I read a story where the main character is being targeted for death at a health spa and think, "Well, that sounds relaxing." As Elizabeth LaSalle attempts to uncover the truth about her famous sister's death — did the handsome, wealthy boyfriend do it or not? — her questions become a threat. Weep No More, My Lady boasts a cast of wealthy, attractive characters, which is par for the course with Mary Higgins Clark books, but readers also follow along as Alvirah Meehan, lottery winner, undercover author, and perhaps Clark's most popular character figures out the identity of the killer — but at what cost?

It's always fun when I can guess from early on who the murderer is and be right about it. Some parts of the ending were very odd to me but otherwise it's an enjoyable book.

Mary learned the word "incongruous" for this book. And there was a ridiculous amount of reliance on the efficacy of whistles as summoners of rapid aid. Alvirah was literally the only likable character, which I suppose is good since we are now on the journey through her series of adventures.

I really enjoyed this book! It was so interesting and I was pulled into the plot from the beginning. The plot and twists were so good and kept me guessing until it was announced. A really good book!

I read this because it's in my collection, but don't remember much about it. Probably because a lot of MHC novels blend together after a while for me. The only ones I remember are the ones I absolutely love. The other ones fall to the wayside in my memory. :-(
