My first response when I had finished the book was: dot, dot, dot. What's the hype about? Is there something I've missed, some kind of secret I don't know about? I really don't get it. Maybe this book wasn't meant for me; it's absolutely ordinary. I was expecting a grand world of fantasy with all kinds of mysterious creatures and adventures lurking around every corner. But NO. I guess my expectations got the better of me once again, for the book is not bad. Not bad at all actually. Now that I think about it, I liked the author's style and the writing was fun. The story rectals were somewhat boring but otherwise it was totally fine. I especially enjoyed when the queen of hearts entered the picture, I think she was a very good character as well as her husband, the king. They made a good pair.

All in all, sure. Read the book, I guess you'll have to either way some day. i didnät dislike it, I didn't like it (big emphasis on the like).

I could get this graphic novel cheaply at a local bookstore and wanted to have it for my Alice in Wonderland collection. I was a little disappointed that the graphic novel was only 70 pages though, because I think the story of Alice is kinda rich and is made to be turned into a detailed graphic novel. The shortness of this graphic novel also means that most of the brilliance of Caroll gets lost. There is hardly any poetry left and a lot of situations are only there for a few pages.

However, the illustrations were pretty and quite colorful. I was especially quite happy with how the King and Queen turned out, because they were less of a caricature as they usually are. And, honestly, the original tale is not the easiest tale because of its rhyme and complicated conversations. This book is therefore perfect for non-readers or very young readers to get an idea of what the famous Wonderland story is about.

I hope once they get a taste, they will want more!
