Poor Alice was lost in Carroll’s wondrous mind,
No matter what she did, it wasn't right!
She stretched as tall as trees
And shrunk so small — like a bloated flea.

Bright Alice was too polite to make a stand
Against the Hatter and his wicked friends.
Longing to flee that lustrous land,
She never saw eye to eye with the Queen of Hearts.

Her bruises she rubbed and  planned a way to flee.
Escaping Carroll’s world, she jumped in awe —
But he penned a new story, oh what a pain!
Poor Alice had to start all over again.

this was a fun bit of nostalgia to read. the story less about what happens then how the story is written. i enjoyed reading it again, though i admit i think the adaptions do a better job of telling the story than the original.

I didn't like the style of writing and storytelling. Although I can see that it is a very good story and it unfolds quite quickly. The pace of writing was rather slow. The world in which the story took place was very well done and it wasn't chaotic. Overall, I didn't like the story very well and I didn't read well at all.

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll was pretty disappointing to me. Despite a few good oneliners and life lessons, this book was just way too trippy for me and it had very few likeable characters. Despite the events happening in actual Wonderland, there are way more wonderful stories for children out there in the world. It might just be a matter of taste, but this one’s not for me. It’s nothing like, for instance, Peter Pan, which is a classic I loved to read. ⭐️⭐️ from me, since I only pushed through because I listened to the audio version while doing chores. 🧼🧽🪣
