I really enjoyed this book. There were a few pick me-ish moments when Hallie was criticizing other women, especially in the beginning, but if you ignore those her character is really loveable. I found the relationship to be sweet, very believable, and the chemistry was great. I’m a sucker for friends to lovers. I won’t spoil anything but this book is like a mosaic of classic tropes, with some fun but not forced pop culture references.

I felt like the main character was insufferable. It also came off as if the author dislikes women by making the only two women in the whole book stereotypical “bimbos” and the main character thinking she’s so much better than them.

Not sure how this book went from strangers to besties/wingmen to fake dating to lovers but it was way too much, too many tropes, and somehow misogyny was a running gag of this book.

I really enjoyed one of Lynn Painter's YAs but this book was bad enough to put her on my no-longer-reading list of authors. I didn't like either of the characters, didn't feel like I knew them, it felt there was slight homophobia throughout with the way other men were described and somehow it was both genderrolly and not-like-most-girls....
