Helen goes on a blind date that changes her life when a man from her past shows up and turns everything she thinks she knows about her life upside down. A wonderful telling of four very different lifetimes that tie together kept me on the edge of my seat. I really liked this book- the flow of the story could have easily been confusing, but it reads seamlessly. I had a hard time putting it down!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

This was better than I’d been expecting from a £1 book!

It wasn’t without its problems though:
It felt long-winded at times and I couldn’t figure our the MC’s obsession with Auguste. There was no plausible connection there whatsoever.
It was a bit tedious toward the end (I started to lose interest with the movie stuff and the music stuff didn’t help matters).
I was expecting a bit more out of the
Spoilercurse-breaking. It felt so flat and anticlimactic!
The ending was just a bit silly.

One thing I didn’t fully understand is who was the mother actually trying to curse? She did such a spectacular job at ballsing it up; but, who was her original target? I think I missed this.

I didn't think the characters were particularly well-written, and the story got repetitive really fast. Partly that's the point, but that doesn't make it any more fun to read. It was okay overall.

3,5 - ähnlich wie addie la rue, aber bissl anders: nett und interessant gemacht, aber einfach geschrieben. die unterschiedlichen epochen waren interessant, aber sandra hätte man zb weg lassen können - etwas zu lang und zu viel.

I really enjoyed the characters, but the last female swing was a doosey and her chapter was never ending.
