this was a great continuation in the series!! it’s keeping me very interested and I have been enjoying how the series is going so far!

cassel’s mom and brother piss me off so much, like they are such dysfunctional messes. i think the character development cassel has been going through was well done and I’m enjoying it.

I’m not HUGELY interested in the romance but I like it on the side because the plot is the main important thing in the book. I like that the plot comes first and romances second. I do LIKE the romance, but it’s not that big of a deal to me. I really really love cassel’s developing relationship with his friends, too.

Also, the Mortal Instruments reference was SO FUNNY. Holly Black is a true comedian.

The plot has been enjoyable so far, and I’m excited to see how it all gets concluded in the final book.

2.5 stars. So very meh. I read this at a bad time, just after finishing several only-okay books. I was craving a great book, but felt forced to read this since it was at the top of my library TBR pile.
Sadly I have close to nothing to say about this. I've never been too invested in the series, and the plot in this sequel barely kept me interested. Might still read the final book, just to find out what happens.

Oh man. I loved the first book in this series so much. But this one just didn't deliver for me. Full review to come.

4.5 Stars.
I think the only thing that bugged me about this book was all the subplots. It wasn't my very favorite...but I really liked White Cat.
I'm hoping when and if I read Black Heart it's better.

A great continuation of the series. I love Cassel and the roller coaster life that he leads. He is a good kid even though he does not thing so. I think tat even though he is a con he has a good streak and that is why he is so lovable, it is what makes him so real.

Lots of secrets come out and the story lines develop more. I can not wait to read the next one to see what happens.
