I don't usually refer to books as sweet, and when I do, it's usually not a compliment. However, this managed it without being smarmy, and that's a rare thing indeed. A (complimentary) sweet and comfortable read that I rather suspect I'll be back to.

A confirmation that Amy Rae Durreson can write any setting and still steal my heart.

Quick read, but entertaining and a full story.
The basic version - Two older widowers strike up a friendship which leads to more, does not do the story justice.
The nuances of Ewan’s family life, with the paper boy, the grandkids, the meddling daughter, all are very well drawn.
By contrast, Alex’s life has been lived in shadows and secrets and it is only now after his partners death that their true relationship is known.
I would have liked to know more about Jonno and Ewan’s youth, but it did give us the background to allow his new relationship with Alex to be without surprise.
Enjoyed

Short, sweet and beautiful use of nostalgia, memory and the realities of new love during old age. I could have read 500 pages of this!! But I don't mean this was too short at all! Author made excellent use of the page count. I really felt like I was looking into a world very far from my own and peeking into a host of very real lives and loves
