Oh my God! Now I have been a fan of Sager for just about every book they’ve written. However, the last one and this one just didn’t hit the mark for me. Each chapter is WAY TOO predictable. I had no sympathy for ANY of the characters. They were all bad. Anna’s abilities and capabilities were just far too unbelievable. I mean, seriously, this girl needed some military training for what she was physically doing.

I enjoyed this more than Middle of the Night. A 50s-set revenge story on a 13 hour train ride? So Agatha Christie!
I wish there had been more language to remind me it was in the 50s, as a lot of the time it just felt very modern. I did enjoy the murder mystery aspect and figuring out who the killer is, though.
Emotional and satisfying, overall a great popcorn thriller.

I’m being generous with the 3 star, I fell asleep at the 80% mark of the audiobook
I found this audiobook interesting and very different. Saying that, I think I would’ve enjoyed physically reading it better. There were a lot of characters to keep track of and I’m a visual person. The narration was great though!
What I enjoyed about it was all of the different ways the characters did connect. Like I said, I kind of lost bits here and there, but overall it was a great aspect to the storyline. I didn’t see a few twists and I did see a few too. It wasn’t my fave Riley Sager book, but I liked it more than others he has written. Middle of the road for him and an interesting concept.
