It was a good book. I thought the ending was kind of predictable as to who Jack the Ripper was. I was surprised though as to how he died. I was disappointed that Thomas and Audrey Rose did not get together more in the end. I’m not sure if I will read the next one.

OH.MY.GOODNESS! What a story! This is one that will keep you up way too late at night. First because you need to see how it ends....and second, because it's creepy enough to make you NEED to finish it...

I love.LOVE this story. And I am not even sure WHY. I am not typically drawn to the murder, creepy, mystery stories...But I am slowly changing my tune. This is a story written for Young Adults so it isn't over-the-top graphic or disturbing, but it IS a story about Jack the Ripper, so keep that in mind before you dive into this story. That being said...

If you love a good mystery and history...I HIGHLY recommend this book.

I purchased a copy of this book. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.

nothing like a good old fashioned (pun intended ofc) reread to start the year off. yeah ofc the murder is fun and all but we all know we read this for wadsworth and cresswell

The book was very well written and I thoroughly enjoyed it, I will also be reading the next book in the series. My only complaint was the ending and how quick things moved along. I wish there would have been a little more before it was wrapped together in a neat little bow.

i guessed the murderer pretty early on, but this was so fun and i’m a sucker for flirty sarcastic love interests

I know this book isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and there are reviews giving reasons why they didn’t enjoy this story (to each their own). For me personally, I quite enjoyed reading Kerri’s take on Victorian-era London and Jack The Ripper.

It took me a while to read this book because life kept getting in the way and I also wanted to take my time reading this book to really absorb everything that went on and to try and figure out for myself who JTR really was. It proved to be quite difficult for me lol.

The growing relationship between Audrey Rose and Thomas is my favorite. Their constant banter and witty remarks had me rooting for them the entire time. I loved the way the challenged each other, especially the way Thomas challenged her to be who she has always wanted to be and not what society expected a lady to be. She constantly broke the rules on what is considered acceptable and what wasn’t for a women of her stature to be doing or to be interested in.

The twists and turns that kept happening in this story had me at the edge of my seat. I never knew what was going to happen next or what clues would be found that got us one step closer to finding out who JTR really was and why he started murdering all those women and what reasons he had for the way they were killed. There was so much detailing when it came to Audrey Rose’s work she was doing at her uncles lab and what exactly had been done to each and every woman that had been murdered, which I loved because it had me picturing exactly what was going on. I know that sounds odd but that’s the type of things I like in books. Immaculate detailing that has you picturing in your head what is happening, almost as if you’re there too.

The only thing that bothered me was Audrey Rose constantly jumping to conclusions too quickly for certain things. It drove me mad and had me yelling at her in my head while I was reading.
