burn out de Anna

Love a good Helen huang book. This was cheesy in a lot of ways but also so sweet and great representation for a romance

I thought this would be insightful, cute, and steamy like Hoang's other novels - and it was, but it was also the hardest hitting book I've read this year.

Spoiler

Anna having to suddenly become a caregiver for her ill father and experiencing caregiver burnout is a huge theme in the back half of this book. My own father had a stroke six months ago and while he is able to mostly care for himself, I found myself thrust into a role I hadn't prepared for. This book cared so lovingly for Anna even when she couldn't care for herself.
