Avalon's librarian (Maureen Davenport) meets up with former child star (Eddie Haven) to plan the annual Christmas program. At the same time, Maureen is dealing with the lack of a library budget and possible closing and Eddie faces the truth about why he hates Christmas. Enjoyable read and believable characters...

It's formulaic and trite. Much of the description is repetition from what's been said earlier. Okay, okay, I get it. The characters are one-dimensional stereotypes. Nothing out of the box here.

After my recent discovery of smart, well written, incredibly satisfying romance novels, I decided to wade farther out into the genre. Sadly, although this book had the BEST premise ever, it was pretty much terrible. Not smart, clunkily written, no chemistry between the characters, and flat, silly, stereotyped characters generally. Two stars for the genius premise, jacket copy, and a couple of hilarious lines, though.

Maureen Davenport loves her job at the library and is heartbroken when the library is to close at the end of the year due to the lack of funding. She is hoping for a Christmas miracle this year. While Maureen loves and believes in Christmas, Eddie dislikes Christmas and the movie he did when he was a kid. He and Maureen are working together on the Christmas pageant and find that their differences only makes them come closer.

Daisy, a young single mother is feeling sad that her young son will be with his father this Christmas, her best friend is remaining overseas and the boy whom she loves and knows her the best will also be away. Daisy is looking for her own Christmas miracle but it may be more than she asked for.

I loved this one! I loved that she was a librarian/reader, and that he was in a band. I loved Jabez. I like that it was easy to figure out early on who Jabez was, and wait for them to figure it out. It was a good romance/Christmas book all rolled into one!
