Thoroughly enjoyed this. I can only hope for a follow-up that brings this group back together again!

A classic knight's tale full of adventure, honour, codes of conduct, loyalty, nobility and everything else you would associate with a historical tale set in this era.

K. Mason has given us a gem that I will definitely be reading again. I do hope she considers telling us about Stefan and Benedict's journey to their new life because I am sure they could have some spectacular adventures on the way.

There was so much about this story that I love but there is one scene that stands out as particularly grand, with so much attention to detail it is clear this author loves this era. The scene I loved was when Stefan meets the King. It is told in a way that I could almost see it playing out in my head. The King's regal and confident manner and Stefan's honour and need to do the right thing shone through in this scene so perfectly.

The women in this story were portrayed as authentically as possible as well. Sarah described herself as Booker's property but far from rebelling against this she was portrayed as strong and confident of her position within the group and confident in the ways in which she could help and support her family.

I loved Stefan and Benedict's relationship too. I do hope they find their niche.

So yes, a lovely historical story with knights, swords, honour and some excellent characters I would like to read more about.
