I began the book expecting it to be similar in format to Amy Poehler's "Yes Please!", which this book is not. (This was a mistake on my part and I should have gone into it with fewer assumptions.) This book was light-hearted, fun, with the biting sarcasm that helped weave honesty amidst her stories. But that's really what it was... just a compilation of stories. I kept waiting for the climax, the moment where it would tie together but it never came. And maybe that's exactly how she wanted it to be; a lot like life where there isn't any real "climax" but rather a compilation of stories and moments that intertwine but don't have a linear connection.

When I tried to read this book a few years ago, I was bored and didn't enjoy it; I never finished it. I love Tina Fey and wanted to give it another chance, so I tried again with the audiobook. I enjoyed the audiobook far more than reading the book. Hearing Tina read the book with her style made it much more entertaining. I loved the details and background information regarding her Sarah Palin impression on SNL.

Man, I never knew that Tina Fey and I were so similar. Her writing style is engaging and you just want to keep reading. It felt like Liz Lemon was talking to me and I loved it.

I listened to the audiobook, which I would 100% recommend to anyone who wants to read this book. Hearing the jokes and line delivery read by the author herself makes this book 10x better and I'm fairly certain there are extras in the audiobook (ie, Sarah Palin SNL sketches and other voice impressions). Overall it was a quick and enjoyable listen, but I just didn't find myself laughing very much. But go Tina for using her memoir to make a stand on feminism in a lighthearted way.
