Dave Ramsey's financial book was much more simpler and understandable.

Some good stuff, but a whole lot of filler

About 25% of this book is good, solid guidance. The rest is a lot of fluff and filler in the form of anecdotes and pep talks that were likely included to pad the page count and make it feel like a longer book. I was planning to give it two stars, but there IS an entire chapter at the end about the value of giving back through volunteering, donating, and otherwise being a good citizen of the world with the wealth you are hopefully beginning to create as a result of the book’s suggested actions. So I give a third star for the author’s inclusion of this topic, and writing an entire chapter on the topic instead of just a few short lines.

P.S. Some of the advice is now dated, as the book was written in 2004. Not necessarily wrong, just dated, so be sure to do your research on current best practices as well.

Excellent book to start learning about investments. It is better to start investing ASAP, but don't worry if you are on your 40s or later, you can do it too!

The real estate section was depressing to read after 2022. Very dated.

General information was still useful though.

Though its an old book the concepts are still the same, many of these steps/tips shown in this book I had already started on my own and though they are not that simple they do work. But there is a vast amount of information that we don't know and books like this one help us understand some of that info. This book is a great addition to my book case and I will probably come back to review some of its chapters later.

Nothing groundbreaking here. The only difference, really, between this and standard personal finance fare is the suggestion to save and pay debt simultaneously, rather than consecutively.

Though, it was a bit presumptuous to assume we were all raking in salaries large enough to spend $300+ per month on our 'latte factor' and, in turn, could save that much by cutting them out. $300 is what I spend on my monthly grocery budget!

Some really good advice, could do with a revised copy now after all the changes that have occurred in the past few years.
