Lots of fun!
I would like Loretta Chase to follow me around and tell me what to say so I could be as witty as one of her books. I think if I had read this book without reading Lord Perfect I may have found Olivia a bit annoying. But having "met" her as a child in the book, she's now simply herself. Lisle and Olivia are a delight together. In some ways they know each other so well but are dumbfounded by the attraction that surfaces between them now that they are adults and what that means to them and their plans. The "mystery" is a bit lame and the dirty old lady banter, while funny in small doses, gets a bit tiresome by end. But those are minor parts of the book and minor issues. The overall romance and story is fun, witty and very satisfying.

A well written, clever, full of funny and witty remarks, as only Loretta Chase knows how to do.
This is the story of two friends, Lisle and Olivia, who after ten years of getting to know one another, suddenly _or was it really? _ find themselves in love with one another.
A very engaging reading. Loved Olivia pecularities...especially her NOBLE QUESTS, her capital IDEAS, and all her underlined subjects ( you'll understand this once you read the book...so, no, i'm not insane!)

Last night's scandal is a funny romance involving an adventure crazy Lady and a taciturn Egypt loving hero. Oh yes, their crazy family and friends, too.
I really liked the characters and their personality. Olivia is just too much with her Ideas and Plans. She acts, manipulates everyone, is overly theatrical, but she also has a very big heart. I loved her arguments with Lisle and laughed out loud during the first part of the novel. The two chaperones are awesome.
If I liked the ending, I was a little bit out of it during a part of the "ghost" story. I could have been a bit shorter and it would have worked for me.
Overall, a fun read. I'll read more books from this series.
A more complete - and, I hope, better written review, in French: http://moncoinlecture.over-blog.com/article-last-night-s-scandal-lady-carsington-loretta-chase-86562066.html

What an utter delight. A perfect blend of romance and comedy with A+ writing, and holy shit would you look at this step back cover. This had a lot to live up to as a sequel to the nearly perfect [b:Lord Perfect|132598|Lord Perfect (Carsington Brothers, #3)|Loretta Chase|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1386923997l/132598._SY75_.jpg|127727] and featuring the wayward children from the book, now grown up and long distance best friends. The epistolary components were hilarious and sweet.
Once they get back together, they can’t keep their hands off each other, with hilarious consequences.
If I had one complaint about this book it’s that the mystery component was slightly underbaked.

This was a pretty average romance novel. I liked the two main characters, Lisle and Olivia, but I didn't love them. The love story was pretty believable, but I wasn't on the edge of my seat hoping they'd get together.
This one might be my favorite of the whole series? But it's also so hard to say because all but #4 were absolutely Christina-bait in a variety of ways. Still, for the first read through, I think this one was the winner because I fell so thoroughly in love with Peregrine and Olivia in Lord Perfect, and I was over the moon to realize they were the MCs of Last Night's Scandal.
As per usual, the plot is thoroughly silly and constant banter. Olivia's voice is one of my favorites ever, because she's so over the top and melodramatic at all times while also being thoroughly incorrigible and herself. Their dynamic is similar to the one her mom and his uncle have, with him straitlaced and her anything but, only to the power of ten.
The plot involves Lisle inheriting a castle and her going to help him make it profitable, despite rumors of ghosts. It's absurd and not really a mystery, but I enjoyed every moment.

Decent. I liked the willful heroine, the two old ladies and the treasure hunt.
I feel pretty confident in saying anyone who’s ever read Lord Perfect has been waiting for this book. Having only discovered Loretta Chase a few years ago, I, luckily, haven’t had to wait as long as others to finally see Peregrine and Olivia have their own story. I am happy to report, that no matter how long you’ve been waiting, Last Night’s Scandal is worth the wait. Everything that made Peregrine and Olivia such outstanding characters in Lord Perfect is still present - - somehow Chase really managed to take all of the personality quirks that made them so lovable in Lord Perfect, and realistically aged the characters. I also loved that, just as in Lord Perfect, the duo get to go on a Grand Adventure, and just happen to fall in love along the way.
I read Last Night’s Scandal about three months ago, but as I sit down to write this review, all of the warm and fuzzies I had while reading just came flooding back. I loved the Aunties that went on their vacation, I loved the bumbling ghosts (though I think I liked them more in hindsight, than I did during the story), I loved the adventure they embarked upon; truly, from start to finish, I enjoyed Last Night’s Scandal. You don’t need to have read Lord Perfect to appreciate how great Last Night’s Scandal is, but it sure won’t hurt either!
