3.5⭐ the start have some potential but both characters are weirdly obsessed about one thing, egypt n fun.... and its getting annoying. I dont get how they can fit romance with a haunted house it just didn't make sense to me—

This is probably my favourite of the Carsington Brothers series, even though Peregrine isn't actually a Carsington Brother...he's a Carsington step-nephew. Ignoring that fact though, I thoroughly enjoyed this book because I really like Peregrine as a character and I think it was a very nice idea to have the relationship between him and Olivia; after what happened in [b: Lord Perfect|132598|Lord Perfect (Carsington Brothers, #3)|Loretta Chase|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1386923997s/132598.jpg|127727]. It kind of annoyed me at first because I wanted to read about and know Geoffrey, but as he was already successfully married I guess that's why the 5th book was around Lisle and Olivia. I am glad Loretta planned it that way because like I said, Last Night's Scandal is an wonderful book; the aspect of Peregrine constantly trying to deny what he feels for Olivia and always sticking to business is very amusing, and the fact that Olivia had actually always kind of loved him from the start and kept everything he sent her (and made that ring and NEVER TOOK IT OFF) is very adorable and loving.
Last, but not least...AMAZING JOB LORETTA!!!

Fun! A worthwhile (temporary?) closure of the Carsington series. And we met Lisle & Olivia, the runaways from Lord Perfect, again! :-)

This was the second book by Loretta Chase I’ve read and I did enjoy it fractionally more than A Duke in Shining Armor. A lot of that had to do with the setting in Scotland. I’ve not read any other books in this series and I know my enjoyment would likely have been increased if I had, but I got along just fine having not read the previous installments.
