Having a little romance in historical fiction is ok with me but how dare this guy overshadow her first surgery by immediately thereafter giving her her first kiss

The rest was fine.

I enjoyed Noras story, and connected with her issues. Enjoyed most of the story and only had issues with some of the characters. Spoilers- I felt like Harry's character was hollow and his presence was pure fluff. It felt like he was placed there to only cause a weak and unbelievable love triangle. Additionally, I did not enjoy the relationship between Daniel and Nora, though I just feel like I never felt connected to the two of them, not that their relationship was a detriment to the story. Daniel’s reluctant expectance of Eleanor was predictable and I struggle between finding it believable or not. Other than this I felt that Eleanor’s character and behavior was realistic and appropriate. This novel felt like a win for her character and her hard work. I enjoyed it enough to read it quickly, and I would read other novels by this author.
