For everyone who likes BBC Sherlock or any of the variations of TV show or movies, needs to pick up the original stories. They're a quick read, but chock-full of excitement and adventure and mystery. There's a reason these are classics.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle deserves every bit of fame he amassed from writing these stories. I so badly wanted to enjoy Sherlock Holmes, but unfortunately these two novellas are what made me finally realize that I don't care for mysteries or crime stories.

3.5 stars. Well- written, and I think Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was very intelligent. The Sign of the Four's subject matter wasn't as interesting to me. It was funny to read A Study in Scarlet with the evil, scary Mormons.
