Unfortunately, this was the worst book of the series for me. It felt incredibly self-indulgent on behalf of the author - the text needed a lot of editing. Twilight dragged and this felt genuinely painful at times, with a second-long pause in human time equalling what felt like endless pages of angst from Edward.
The one positive for me was definitely gaining more insight into the secondary characters.

I expected to find this book to be absurd, but also a fun rush of nostalgia. But guess what? Edward’s inner monologue made it nearly impossible for me to finish (pun very much not intended).

Also, this book is 650 pages long and about 400 of them are just various forms of “she’s so fragile I must protect her but also I will hurt her and why would she want to be with someone as disgusting as me boo hoo”

Them chasing James at the end was cool though…

Shockingly good. The jump from reading the first Twilight book to this is crazy
