I am very close to DNF-ing this book, and I DO NOT DNF books (as painful as it can sometimes be, I have this need to finish all books that I’ve managed to get halfway through).
Don’t get me wrong, this is not a horrible read that I’m forcing myself through. It’s actually quite fun and cute at times. I’ve laughed a lot and love the nostalgia it brings to my inner teen.
So why am I close to giving up?
Maybe too much time has passed since I read the first book, but there is just so much that I don’t remember. I feel like I would need to read both books at the same time (or re-read Twilight before starting this one).
But even that doesn’t seem to be the main issue. I think the bottom line is: for me, this is a fun nostalgia-trip but the nostalgia is not strong enough to sustain me through its 658 pages. This would have been a lovely piece of chocolate, but instead it’s the whole factory and my stomach is starting to hurt.
I might finish it someday, but for now I’ll allow myself to take a break.

This was a nice little nostalgia bomb, but I felt like it wasn't worth the wait. It wasn't different enough from Bella's point of view, to feel like I was reading a new book. Also, maybe it's because I'm older now, but I found Edward to be extremely whiny and annoying.

Edward es un psicopata.
edward's perspective was super cool to read!! it gave me an even deeper idea of his character, and i look forward to rereading the series in the future with this new knowledge. ive also always loved the cullen family so much, especially alice, so seeing these new little moments and scenes was awesome!!!!
They're so perfect for eacother due to their shared dramatics and self-deprecation. Edwards a bit of an obsessive creep though, yikes! Why am I still team Edward though. Old habits die hard or something.

redundant as hell but it's still twilight
I should start this off by saying, I have read the original Twilight books and college-aged Rachel loved them. I also re-watch the Twilight movies every couple of years. So I’m a fan of the Twilight world.
HOWEVER, I just don’t see the point of this book. It’s much longer than the original Twilight book, so much longer in fact that I originally thought it covered the whole series from Edward’s perspective. Nope! It’s just Twilight.
Things I enjoyed:
Reading people’s minds through Edward
Steamy make out scenes (or almost make out in some cases
