Si j'étais restée sur ma faim avec le précédent tome, là ... comment dire ? PU**IN comme c'était bien!

"You're my rope. I can't have it severed. So yes, I'm ordering you to stay in the fu**king van."

La romance n'est encore pas le sujet principal du roman, mais cela ne m'a pas frustrée, cette fois, car ils se passent des choses intenses et très fortes entre ces deux hommes. Ils m'ont complètement fait craquer ...

"Why do you want me ?" (...)
"You rescue lost people for a living. Is it any wonder you found me ?"

I have been formally sucked into the world Layla Reyne has crafted. I read this book in about 4 sittings and binged the audiobook for the last 10 chapters while running errands. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Cam and Nic and I can't wait for the sequel!!!!

Update : 2nd read through and I am still on board with this story. I finished this yesterday and I still am totally in love with these two characters!

I  stayed up waaaaaay too late reading this book, because I couldn’t put it down! This is my favorite of the series so far (even when you include the AIW books) and I just HAD to read it all in one sitting. I was not emotionally prepared for this book AT ALL. It was very high-stakes and the story just broke my heart. I loved all the cameos from the AIW characters and Nic and Cam were just EVERYTHING. *happy sighs*

Imperial Stout gave a good intro into the series and kind of what to expect, but I just didn't expect Craft Brew to GO THERE. This book is intense. Not only do we get drama from the crime side of things, but we get really intense family drama. We know Nic's story with his father in the first book, but this story takes place with Cam having to make a trip home and seeing his family. This goes into why Cam decided to go into kidnap and rescue and the story is heartbreaking.

This story actually tries to starts off on a high note. Nic and Cam are actually in a really good place and the first words of this book is Cam asking Nic to move in with him. But, of course, nothing is ever easy because Nic has been asked to work out of town for a while and Nic is worried that moving in with Cam will put a target on Cam's back because of the people after Nic's father. It's a huge mess basically, and not one they can easily work their way out of.

They kind of leave things unresolved before Nic leaves for his temporary job, and even when Nic's done with that job, Cam's called back home to the east coast in an emergency that his mom is in the hospital. Cam's doesn't want Nic following him home for mysterious reasons, so Nic is left on the west coast while Cam flies back home with Jamie in tow. Jamie is friendly with Cam's family, and it helps that they have connections to the Talley's private planes to help them travel like the rich and famous (and at the drop of a hat).

There's been a disappearance that strangely resembles Cam's own sister's disappearance years ago, and Cam's mom is insistent that with Cam in town, for him to finally try to find out  what happened to his sister. It's not like he hasn't tried, but it's definitely caused bad blood between him and his family.

Cam's youngest brother has never quite forgiven him and blames him for Erin's disappearance. It's a rift in the family that's never been mended, and Cam's tried his hardest throughout the years to find out what happened to Erin. He's dedicated his own life to finding something about Erin, but that's never been enough when no answers have ever come of it.

This book just tugs at the heartstrings. It's really heavy. I was crying while I was reading this and while, yes, this story ends with a HFN, it's still a lot to take in. I can handle Nic and the problems he has with his father, but the story surrounding Cam's younger sister, who was a kid when she disappeared? It's a tough read. I'm glad that Nic and Cam has found a family with Jamie, Aidan, Mel, and Danny (and even Lauren, I think). I love this book, and I can't believe that we're already so close to the end! I'm not ready for Nic and Cam's story to end in the next book, but I hope they can find the HEA they deserve. <3

Holy sh- this book was amazing! It pulled on my heart strings from the first page and it never let go. It was impossible to put it down, especially when the case started to unravel! I love Cam and Nic so much, and my heart broke into so many pieces several times. This trilogy is all about finding your family, whether it’s your blood or your found one, and you know I will start the third book immediately! Or well, after I sleep, I guess 😉

Cam deals with a personal cold case while Nic deals with his  shitty father's mess. Two sexy, dominant alphas, with hidden layers of sensitivity and sweetness - what's not to love? And I'm seriously loving Nic/Cam, as much as I adored Aidan/Jamie. Their romance goes from strength to strength, while dealing with issues such as Cam hiding his bisexuality from his family. And Nic is the best boyfriend - he's hurt but remains supportive.

Cam also struggles with the case, and Nic is always there to pull him back, steady him and love him. Cam is no less protective of Nic, and will put his life on the line for him. Their chemistry is electric, the sex steamy hot, and the quiet moments are sweet and emotional. There's better pacing, the suspense is solid and there's strong (found) family vibes. Also, Jamie as Cam's BFF and Aidan as Nic's = awesome.

“I won’t lose you.”
“We can’t be sure of that,” Cam said. He
was a law enforcement officer, Nic was an
officer of the court—anything could happen,
that was their reality. So was the fact he
loved this man. “But I don’t want to waste
another minute of loving you.”
“No objections.”

Having lived the "Agent Whiskey and Irish" series, it was with excited nerves that I started the spin-off series "Trouble Brewing" . Trouble Brewing. The first book Imperial Stout was very good, but the real test is the dreaded sequel. And I have to conclude that there was nothing to be nervous about. With "Craft Brew" I can say that I love this series just as much as the first one.
However, I also got a bit of my crawing for Whiskey & Irish satiated, since both Jamie and Aiden are in this book quite a bit. They have the role of wingman for Cam and Nick, respectively.

In this book we will learn a lot more about Cam, his upbringing and his family background. We find out what has helped create the man he is today and what shapes his relationship to Nic.

Although Cam and Nic are actually separated through large parts of the book, the book centers around their relationship, and the push-and-pull between them feels very intense. Their feelings are BIG, but is that enough? Will their love be steadfast and strong enough to stand garde against the future? Against time spent apart? From separation from their families? Will it be able to stand up to said families and claim each other? The question that runs through every page of the book... Will they be enough?
I, at least can't wait to find out in the third book.
Tic, tic, tic... Time is running too slow. I need the conclusion.

This book was given to me by Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

4.5 stars!

Cameron and Dominic's story continues, and trouble is definitely brewing.

Vaughn is still a threat four months later, although it's been quiet so far. But it's only getting worse, and Vaughn isn't backing down. Nic's father had to take out a mortgage on the house to keep paying Vaughn, but he's still behind on his payments. Things are starting to come to a head there.

But first, the main plot and mystery in this book, is Cam's sister's disappearance. When Cam gets a call from his family all the way in Boston that his mother had a heart attack, he races to get there.

Nic, having run away to San Diego for 5 weeks to cover for a lawyer who had been on paternity leave, came back, but that same day Cam gets the call and they barely get a chance to be together before Cam's leaving - and saying he doesn't Nic to come. Why?

We get an answer soon enough - Cam isn't out to his family yet, and with his mother in the hospital, he feels it isn't the right time to tell them he's bisexual and seeing a man.

Nic stays back in San Fran for 4 days working on the Vaughn case, but when Cam calls him for help, Nic goes to Boston.

The next few days or so, maybe close to a week even, is filled with both being pulled in all directions. A new girl is missing who might be tied to Erin's - Cam's sister - case, which Cam reopened personally at mom's request, and Cam and Nic are concentrating on that at the same time Cam has to worry about his mother, whose condition is worsening, and she might not make it. Also, Nic learns pretty damn quickly that Cam isn't out to his family.

Plus, there's everything happening with Vaughn that Nic still has to catch Cam up on when things aren't crazy.

Let's just say that it made for very little alone time between these two.

It frustrated me, which is why I took .5 stars off, how stretched thing they were that barely any time was dedicated to them and their relationship - except for at the beginning and the end, really. Plus, only two sex scenes? :( Disappointing lack of sexy times. What we had was good, but still.

I love Cam and Nic together, and the plot was interesting and their relationship did evolve and strengthen, but there is obviously going to be at least one last book to finish this series up. Truths still haven't been told.

But I did love seeing more of Cam's family and learning more about them and Nic being introduced to them and everything.

This was a solid second installment in the series for me - great plot, great chemistry between these two as always, and great character development. I just wish there had been a little more time dedicated to these two and their relationship - or just maybe even some private time between them.

Overall, I loved this and I can't wait for the third installment. I so badly want these two to get their HEA!

I’m not going to lie, I was a little bit nervous about starting this book for a few reasons 1) the relationship tension surrounding these two was palpable; 2) book one in the series was a bit of a disappointment considering the build-up and anticipation and 3) I loved the first series and those MC’s…A LOT and I was really, really looking forward to reading more about Cam and Nic (and also hoping to get a little more of Irish and Whiskey).

I am SO glad I didn’t give up after book one. And I will say again that I really don’t think this can be read as a spin-off series on its own. It honestly would be too confusing without having read the first series and book one is definitely required before this one. If you haven’t read those, do yourself a favor and just start from the beginning, you won’t regret it. Jamie (Whiskey) plays a major role in this book so I’d be remiss in not recommending you read his series first.

This book is tense and emotional. There are moments of sweetness and sorrow. The story surrounding Nic’s father continues to unravel but this book mostly centers on Cam and his family. Their relationship continues to grow and my God do I love these guys together. They are just right for each other. The protective nature in each of them runs deep so they butt heads try to protect each other which is half the appeal. Their sexual chemistry is strong but its their emotional chemistry that makes them so amazing in this story. I’d be hard pressed to say which of them is my favorite but there are a few times it would have picked Nic…hands down…from a couple of lines alone.

As I mentioned earlier, some of the characters from the original series make appearances. Jamie plays a major and he is as bad arse as ever.

These guys are well on their way to an HEA and I can’t wait for Nic to finally get the ordeal with his father resolved (which we’ll have to wait until book three to happen). In case you couldn’t tell by the 5 star rating, this is absolutely a must read!
