This was my second time listening to the audio of this one. The story is great, as usual. However the reader was changed to Peter Giles for this book, and I just don't like his narration as much as the others. Of all of the various narrators, Titus Welliver is my favorite, for obvious reasons (he IS Bosch). But Dick Hill, who reads books 1-5, also does a great job. It's still enjoyable, but the way Giles does Bosch is just too much of a put on gruffness that irritates me and makes me think he must have ended this job with a terrifically sore throat.
TL,DR: Great story. Decent but not great narrating.

Haven't read a Bosch book for some time, but this was just as good as the others.
I love the Harry Bosch series, so going back to read some of the earlier books in the series since have read the newer ones. Very suspenseful as Harry deals with the politics of the LAPD.
An activist attorney is killed in a cute little L.A. trolley called Angels Flight, far from Harry Bosch's Hollywood turf. But the case is so explosive--and the dead man's enemies inside the L.A.P.D. are so numerous--that it falls to Harry to solve it. Now the streets are superheating. Harry's year-old Vegas marriage is unraveling. And the hunt for a killer is leading Harry to another high-profile L.A. murder case, one where every cop had a motive.

I enjoyed the book. Interesting to get a different perspective on Bosch. Excellent twists.
