undeniably a very powerful and harrowing story. i enjoyed the weaving of biblical stories. i just think that the verse aspect was underused; it had no bearing on the text except for a few occasions where the author played with the shape (like to funnel the text down to a "vanishing point").

This book was a melting pot of many things, but in the best way possible. It made me google Artemisia and know more about her story. This all shows how the autor cared about her story. Its angsty, poetic and so distant, yet so actual! The only minor flaw is that half of the story is discribed in the premice, but i understand the reason.

Story changes perspective from the main character to a retelling biblical story, i am familiar with the biblical story however i found the book confusing to read and hard to tell what was happening.
