Sulty and sweet combined. A relationship that went in reverse, amazing sex and grew into more as they try to navigate. Can't wait to read more.

2.5 stars.

I'm so disappointed that I didn't like this book because I've loved every other Christina Lauren book I've read recently. Maybe it's because I've been reading their work non stop or that I've read to much romance recently. But I was so uninterested in these characters. I found Ansel to be creepy and the sexy scenes to be annoying. I usually wanted to skip over the steamy parts because I was so not on board with the couple.

I didn't feel like the characters were good at all and there was nothing about either main character that made me invested in their character arc. Additionally the romance was odd to me and I didn't feel the connection between the two characters. I think this was just not my kind of romance. I'm conflicted about continuing in the series, even though they follow different characters. I guess we'll see.

Pretty good for a mostly spicy book. The blurry consent at the beginning did make me pretty uncomfortable (I just chose to ignore that part for the rest of the book). But I liked their story and how Mia chose her own path at the end. I kind of saw the twist coming, but
I thought Perry was indeed a man who had feelings for Ansel, since Ansel said he can't help Perry since he isn't familiar with what he's going through (ie unrequited love for the same sex person). I thought the lady at the party was going to be his boss who would trick Mia into saying that Ansel doesn't plan to stay at his job long-term.

I just sort of just picked this up on a whim and liked it more than I thought I would. I really liked the setting of Paris. I feel like I have a better understanding of what Paris is like. I loved all the French in this book and got really excited when I stopped needing to translate it on my phone and I just started understanding it. I really liked Ansel as a character I thought he was very endearing. I liked Mia as well for her humor and her resilience. I feel like she was very comfortable with who she was despite multiple set backs. I wasn't a fan of the open-ending, but as a first book in a series, I don't mind too much. I like this book enough to finish the series and I expect to enjoy myself like I did in this book.
P.S - this book had more sex scenes than needed and it was somewhat tedious at times, but who cares it didn't really effect my enjoyment
