*2.5 stars. this isn’t something i would normally read because i’m not into super smutty books. i also really wasn’t expecting the amount of sex this book had. i personally don’t enjoy romance books that are just all sex but it’s okay if anyone else does, it’s just not my thing. i probably wouldn’t have picked it up if i knew it was mostly sex to be honest. i skipped a lot of the sex scenes because again, i’m not a fan of reading them, which resulted in me skipping a large portion of the book. i liked their romance but i was more interested in seeing their relationship grow and i feel like that didn’t happen until the book was almost over. i wish there were more scenes of them just talking and learning more about each other and doing cutesy things like cuddling and having sweet banter especially since they don’t quite know each other very well at the beginning of the book. i did like the two main characters and their backstories, i just wanted more out of their relationship and i was sad that it ended right at a point when i liked their relationship the most. i probably won’t pick up the other books in the series because i know they’re all about different characters and i kind of am just interested in ansel and mia.
A fun, sexy, light-hearted fairy tale.

It was a quick but quite an enjoyable read. The reasons it has 3 missing stars is coz:
1) it was little bit of a drag.. too slow for my liking.
2) there wasn't much of a story. Like the plot consisted of 70% sex and only abt 30% of the actual story.
3) insta love, and it remained that way. the characters never fully bonded over their emotions, it was mostly only physically.
Nevertheless, I did enjoy reading this story, so that earned the first star. It was definitely funny and there were some over-the-top hilarious moments and it was just awesome.
Love was in the air, if basic physical chemistry is your thing. The story was quite romantic. The whole European experience and all made me feel like I was in France. I could smell the café and taste the croissants. And if I closed my eyes, I could see the Eiffel tower. So dear author, excellent job in describing the whole French aura... The book took me there and that's the reason for the second star.
The characters. The female lead, Mia and the male lead, Ansel were kinda cute.
Moving on to the plot...
Three friends - Mia, Harlow and Lola find themselves in Vegas to enjoy a reckless short vacation to celebrate their graduation right before starting college and life starts to get serious. And the trio and are just too cute and adorable, with Mia being the heroine of the story. To quote a description of the girls:
The three incredibly sexy foreigners being Ansel (a sweet and impulsive French boy who also is the hero of the story), Finn (the sarcastic and hilarious best friend from Canada) and Oliver (the more rational and practical thinker of the trio, from Australia).
While the other two couple annul their marriages once sober, incidents and promises lead to Mia and Ansel going through with their marriage and Mia finds herself following Ansel to France for the summer. And from there, the story is about the two of them working things out, having a great sex life, being able and sometimes unable to communicate openly, and finally sharing and sometimes keeping secrets. One such secret from Ansel's side finally threatens their relationship and despite all that, they still find their cute happy ending towards the end of the book.
What I love about the couple is that they're opposites and they still manage to bring out the best in each other (or so the story insists, at least that's how it'd have looked like if you removed the overwhelming amount of sex scenes), while one tries to escape their past and the other tries to escape their future. And it's all kinda sweet. And Ansel, our sweet filthy boy, is as caring, generous, kind and adorable as it gets- that I cannot disagree with.. Basically a French Prince Charming.... With his smooth french accent and drool-worthy boyish charms he's owned Mia's heart since the moment they laid eyes on each other.
It's romantic and it's enchanting....like? U go out of town partying with ur two best friends and run into a hot and sweet french guy who offers a free and open ticket to France to spend the summer with him? Oh and you also happened to have married him on a drunken haze along with spilling your guts, secrets and past in intricate details? And guess what? He wants to give a shot at the marriage even when you're both sober? And he really doesn't look like a rapist/kidnapper and so it's all assuredly safe to follow him to france....? It is enticing to say the least.
This book will definitely make you laugh. That's for sure.

Well...quite frankly speaking this book was kinda boring. I mean this has some super fun parts, and I love all the images of France that it was putting on my mind, but in spite of all that this was still a bit (and by "bit", I mean "too") slow paced and I found it quite difficult to hold on to reading and completing this book. It was an enjoyable book like I keep saying, but not all parts and by the time I had finished this book I had to pay myself for being so sincere. Reading this was a bit of a hard-work, and idk why I never mentioned it in the initial review. I mean, in my personal opinion reading is for fun.. it's supposed to make me feel better, it's something I love doing. So if I had to rate it honestly (honest to myself) I should never have given this a 3 star rating, because reading this was a chore.
You’ve found your adventure, and are going to chase it

I’m usually the one pulling Harlow back from hooking up on a table within minutes of meeting someone, while Lola considers beating up any guy who dares speak to usSo there it goes. Mia is the quiet, shy girl of the trio with a past that cost her dream and caused her to grow up into a more restricted and overthinking person. Harlow, is bold, fun and sexy and Lola is the protective, fierce Mother Hen of the group. By the time I got to know the trio at the beginning of the story, I and already started loving them. So,,, these three incredibly sexy women run into three incredibly sexy foreigners at Vegas and end up getting drunk and marrying them.

A hot guy and his hot friends have located us in a club, and said hot guy is buying me a drink. And while they lived a few hours of reckless dreams in Vegas, reality starts to settle in once they hit France. With Ansel constantly spending hours and hours at work and Mia going back into her quiet overthinking self, the whole thing seems too rushed and awkward. And the story shows how the couple work things out despite all that. It's the single most amazing and thrilling experience/summer of Mia's life and we follow her through her journey in France, living with her husband, while she figures out her future and dreams.

Life is built of these little horrible moments and the giant expanses of awesome in between.

Sweet Filthy Boy by Christina Lauren is the perfect mix of spice and story. After an accident shatters Mia’s dreams of becoming a dancer, she’s stuck following the future her dad planned—until a wild Vegas night leads to a surprise marriage to the charming Ansel. Instead of backing out, Mia takes a leap and spends the summer with him in France. What follows is a journey of self-discovery, romance, and adventure.
I loved how the steamy moments were woven naturally into a storyline that actually had depth. The characters felt real, and the writing flowed effortlessly. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a romance with both heat and heart!
