SCARLETT - i have loved your writing since hamartia but ollie takes the cake, truthfully. i was absolutely catapulted into this story and it had me in its grip until the end , and yet…i don’t know how to move on. this is like jessie walker level of angst and slow burn. i was fucking stunned with this.
great expectations was probably my first “classic” novel that i read as a teen, of course for one of my AP English classes. but to see it reimagined in such a devastatingly beautiful way…
honestly i’m glad to have read the original and then this, it was fun comparing certain aspects of the two books. i am just utterly in love with these fictional world and these boys. an absolute MUST READ and easily a top read of 2024 for me. <3
