This was a creepy short story that had me intrigued. I wish it had been longer, but since there’s a series, I might just have to read all the books to see where it goes.

Despite this being KPB's first published book (if I'm not mistaken), I found it very well done.
I listened to the audio but also reread some parts.
I've now purchased the other two in the trilogy and look forward to them!

It starts off well but it becomes unbelievable towards the end.

My first book by this author but it won't be the last. I also think I'll be reading more of the Timmy Quinn series. There was a nice creepy factor to this story, so I want more.

Meh, it was okay. Reminded me a lot (plot wise) of an Orson Scott Card book, so much so that I pretty much saw where it was going early on. Had it been flushed out into a full novel, instead of short story, it probably would have been more fulfilling.

(Others from the Worcester area will probably realize the title of this story was what caught my eye first!)

I know this won awards and received a bunch of five star reviews but it felt like a short story you’d read in your college lit class. So much unnecessary detail and descriptions that were just off. It was a fun concept but end was rushed and unnecessarily vague.
