Just Harriet is a charming, engaging chapter book/young middle grade book with a memorable, relatable protagonist. Filled with sweet illustrations and set in a small island town, this story will appeal to fans of stories set in motels/B&B’s, lovers of animal stories, and readers who enjoy stories with strong grandparent bonds. Finally, this is definitely another pick for kids who love Ramona Quimby!

What a sweet story! This would make a perfect read aloud for 1st - 3rd graders, and of course would be wonderful for independent readers in that age range as well. Harriet has just finished 3rd grade, but IMO reads younger. There is a light mystery, adorable animals and loving family. I'm sad my youngest is now past this type of book because I would have loved to cuddle up with her with this as our bedtime story!

This one was such a cute story that took me back to when I was a kid relating so much to Ramona Quimby. Arnold packed so much into such a short story, I almost want to reread it and focus on different themes each time!

A great early middle grade mystery book for everyone who needs it. Harriet is hilarious, though at other times I did shake my head at some of her antics. All the characters on Marbel Island help her grow.
