This book reads like a Hallmark Romance movie. It's a fun time, but you really have to suspend your disbelief and get on board with the tropes.
I liked it well enough, but romance isn't really my genre, so I wouldn't really recommend it.
I will say, it did bother me that they had perfect sex every single time with no real awkward moments or miscommunications, particularly since the rest of the plot hinges so much on awkward moments and miscommunications. It made the sex scenes feel very separate from the actual story, which was a shame.
(It low-key bugged me that Opal apparently dyed her hair all the time but didn't seem to understand that bleach did not act the same as fashion colours and was going to fry her hair!)
I'd recommend if you like fun silly Hallmark movies and want that for your queer neurodivergent representation.
Also, I'm a Pepper.

Graphic: Mental illness, Abandonment
Minor: Toxic relationship, Toxic friendship
Death of a parental figure before the book begins (technically an aunt but one who was like a grandmother who raised said person)
