I need to stop reading tiktok book recs. DNF at 16%. The MC is just dumb. How is someone just buying a farm off of fb marketplace, paying the entirety of their lottery winnings with no lawyer present? Ugh. And then when she finally gets there, she asks the angry stranger to live with her…that was the last straw before hitting return on my library app. Lol next.

Pepper and Opal are such lovely characters. Their neurodiversity makes them approach problems and conflict very differently, which leads to a lot of tension, but it was so well done. It was really affirming to see problems I’ve also had with communication (or lack thereof) in a book, and really wonderful to see them learn to grow and open up and begin to trust that they deserve love exactly as they are. Full of great puns, emotional vulnerability, and an incredibly lovable cast of main and supporting characters.

LOVED LOVED LOVED this book. I felt so seen by the neurodivergent representation and the romance gave me the warm fuzzies. Not to mention the sapphic smut was *chefs kiss*. This book will definitely be on heavy re-read rotation

I thought this book had a lot of strong qualities. The writing was easy to read and captured a lot of feelings really well. The smut was good, especially in a sapphic book. I didn't love the actual romance plot all that much and the constant miscommunication was frustrating. As someone who is probably neurodivergent, I loved seeing romance for people on the spectrum, but (and this is a personal gripe) I didn't go into this book expecting to have that constantly talked about. I still enjoyed that and we love representation, it was just a very sudden and constant thing I wasn't prepared for. Overall, a silly and sweet read that I don't regret picking up.
