Too slow as an audiobook. May try to read the physical copy at a later date.

I would probably like it more if I hadn't already read the "Righteous mind". They have a huge overlap, which was a bit disappointing.

The Happiness Hypothesis has some interesting ideas on positive psychology and the concept of happiness, but it didn't really resonate with me.

had to read for my grad class--presented on divinity with or without god.
honestly, as someone who does not enjoy non-fiction books, this was a solid read. I have reservations with some of the claims made in the book (some of the takes didn't take into consideration "other" people) idk...

cute read though.

skitbra, precis som hans andra bok. det är så här populärvetenskapliga böcker ska vara. innehållsrik, faktabaserad och inte förenklad men tydlig, lättläst och underhållande.

”there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so”

”love and work are to people what water and sunshine are to plants”

”happiness is not something that you can find, acquire, or achieve directly. you have to get the conditions right and then wait. (…) if you get these relationships right, a sense of purpose and meaning will emerge”

This book was full of gems to consider, but there was a lot of mystical collectivism to set aside. I’ll reread it.

Weak start, then builds to strong with great insight into core psychology. I loved the explorations and explanations about Virtue, Religion, and Adversity. Changed how I think about relationships, people, love, and drugs.

Jumps the shark a bit trying to explain the meaning of life.
