I had to stop reading this at one point because I wasn't in the headspace to absorb the racism aspect. I came back to it, and I'm glad I did. Once again, Allen Eskens has solidified why I am such a fan of his work and writing style. Now I'm ready to read the next on this series.

“Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance.” - Dr. King

Another top read from Allen Eskens! He is an amazing storyteller, so descriptive and great characters. He immerses your into his stories to the point where I feel and see what the characters are experiencing.

This books follows a fifteen year old boy in the 1970s faced with who and what he should believe in during a murder investigation. Hard to put down!

Such a great coming of age story. I love everything Eskens writes and this was no exception.

Trigger warnings: racism, racist violence and language, parental death, familial death

Interesting plot where stories intertwine and mystery of suspicious death in neighborhood in the south in the 70s. The main story was a bit predictable but some of the side stories were so much better. The main character is 15, so there is a bit of a coming of age aspect as well.

Nothing More Dangerous by Allen Eskens is on sale 11.12.19 and I devoured it this weekend, thanks to an #arc from @netgalley and @mulhollandbooks

A well-written story of a summer in 1976 when a white teenage boy is awakened to the racial and social tensions in his small Missouri town.

This is going to be a fantastic story for high school literature classes and book clubs to discuss!
