this man can NOT pull

i enjoy every bit of white nights. this book first and foremost has the ability to speak and break down word per word about what it is to be lonely in your daily endeavours. dostoyevsky serves this kind of story in so much light heart and tenderness, though it's heartbreaking in some way. lonely and yearning are two common emotions in life we no need to be shameful about, and i feel like embracing more of them in me after reading this beautiful piece.

put in as the closing of this book, bobok is also such an enthralling short story to tell about the moral decay in our society. i wouldn't bother to imagine eavesdropping dead people converse with each other, but there i was reading bobok with a huge interest of these deceased's crazy conversation and mundane things they do. then it got me thinking: what if i had several months to live in the verge of after life, would i spend them to reflect and repent, or to play card and rave all night?

overall such an incredible reading experience! dostoyevsky's writing style through conversations after conversations really fascinated me, getting me drawn more into his other works.

I loved how the story ends so abruptly as if there had to be something more to it, but that’s exactly how the main character felt, as those few nights were worth a lifetime to him

This is a book that I might have loved more back when I was 12 or even 17. Unfortunately I am 24 years old.
