Book felt YA though there were a few short hook up/sex scenes. One of the side characters was funny. MMC starts out sweet and protective of FMC but betrays her trust by wiping her memory. I like that there was friction and they broke up because it was feeling too easy. FMC’s power is that she talks to animals so it’s a bit more lighthearted than a lot of killing and battle focused fantasies. Holding her down while she sobs to erase her memories of their relationship killed me. And then omg the school convincing her he assaulted her.

Wild whisperers who can talk to wildlife, flowers, vines, fungi, and more. I’m. In. This was a fun ride that gave me Magicians vibes of different sectors of magic with their own mansion houses on a “college campus.” There’s also pirates. A king of the jungle tiger, bats that the last vampires, and a spider who just wants to see the top of the world. I loved the mysteries that unfold and the way the story progressed. Light romance and very easy to read. Can’t wait to get my hands on the next one.

From the first chapter, this book held me captive. I couldn’t sleep because I couldn’t put it down! Reyna is so caring and sweet! I loved the character development and the relationships between not only other characters, but nature as well. World building and pacing are just right. Who couldn’t help but fall in love with Coen! Also, can we appreciate the cover design! Not going to lie, I definitely am drawn into books by their covers.
