Although a few points were a bit outdated, overall I enjoyed reading th ebook and was surprised how modern the topics at hand (still :( ....) are...
The psychoanalysis part is a bit dry and difficult in my opinion, but other than that the book illustrates misogyny in a way that gives the feminist reader a feeling of schadenfreude. The book is very long and it took me all summer to finish it. A must read!
Simone De Beavuoir is clearly cooking with this one but it's so god damn dense and long that I would need to dedicate an entire year to this book to feel like I'm not cheating it of what it deserves.

Was tired just by reading the introduction by various people. Had to return the book within 3 weeks and my AF membership ends now and doesn't allow me to keep the book for much longer. Its quite an academic yet amusing book but still a bit academic. I think I might devote this time to other books instead of this right now.

What a roller coaster.
Until the conclusion section, I was leaning towards giving this book one star. However, I mostly agreed with de Beauvoir's recommendations for the future and so I have given this book two stars.
Getting to the good concluding remarks was painful. At times de Beauvoir was misogynistic and she had an irritating habit of trying universalize one woman's experience to women as a whole. The obsession with Freudian psychology was tiresome and clearly a sign of the prevailing views of the early twentieth century on gender.
Ultimately, I agree with most of de Beauvoir's ends but not with how she reaches them.
'The Second Sex' is worth a read as a historical text for those who already have a secure background knowledge in the areas of gender and women. However, if you are new to reading and learning about gender and women then I do not recommend this book as it is not very enlightening and takes a long time to get to the point.

Es un libro largo y en partes difícil de seguir; lo empecé muchas veces en los últimos años y nunca pude terminarlo hasta ahora, pero es un análisis excelente y me cuesta entender cómo tuvo tiempo para pensar, estudiar y redactar todo en una forma coherente
Me ayudó a aprender y entender mucho sobre nuestro pasado y presente, pude ver reflejada a mi madre, a mis abuelas y a sus madres y a todas las mujeres que tuvieron que existir para que yo exista, y me dejó preguntándome sobre el futuro y sobre mí misma.
Desearía que tuviera un lenguaje más accesible para que pudiera ser leído y entendido por más mujeres y desde más jovenes, pero entiendo que adaptarse a las formas es la única manera de ser tomada en serio para las mujeres y más todavía en la época de Simone
Siento que todavía tengo un montón de cosas que procesar y sé que voy a volver a varios capítulos más de una vez
