This book is a chonker. And as someone who actively avoided ever taking a philosophy class at university, a lot of this went over my head. This is definitely not an entry-level book to the subject. It is easy to see, though, how revolutionary this was for its time and how it became such a fundamental text of second-wave feminism.

A lot of interesting historic facts and persepctives to look on the role of women today, but defenetly also some outdated ideas and sometimes I feel like Simone made it a litte easy for herself by acting like all women are the same.

I tried to sit down multiple times to write my thoughts on this, but alas, they've been eluding me for quite some time now. Needless to say, this feminist manifesto doesn't require any introduction and I can't do a proper review right now, so I'll just give a personal push to folks reading this - pick it up even if you don't plan to finish it, as the parts in themselves are power punches.
