At some points when reading this, I was startled with how little has changed and how relevant this text still is. At other points, it was clear this was written over 70 years ago, especially any time de Beauvoir mentioned cultures outside of her direct experience. I found the coverage of sexual diversity in animals especially interesting.

EVERYONE should read this at some point in their lives - eye-opening and has already made me more aware of the actions towards women due to wrongful assumptions of characteristics of their sex.
