This book is very important and everyone should read at least parts of it. The parts that are great are very good! And then there are some questionable parts... And just some boring parts. But overall worth the read.

I know the book is over half a century old but still: I think it's outdated. I'm glad I read Angela Davis' Women, Race, and Class first; if I hadn't, I probably would've agreed with more of Simones' book. She did make a lot of important points I think everyone should read and facts that somehow still affect our modern society. I don't agree with most of her philosophy and I don't think it's a book I'd see myself recommending but it was still good getting a different perspective on terms of feminism, lesbianism, motherhood, growth, etc.
