Full of interesting information on the historical and social context of gender. The layout of text is a bit trying for me but otherwise great.

This book has helped me introduced me to a large number of new people, cultures and interesting ideas.
The pictures are illuminating and interesting, and I like that they've experimented with their format through font sizes (there are several different sizes of text, reflecting the level of depth in the text), although I personally found it a little overwhelming and distracting. The first two chapters weren't as interesting to me as the last two, which dealt with diversity and activism.
I don't think this is a good initial primer into the world of gender, but a good second primer, and source of new influences/things to explore.

"What clearly emerges is that whatever we mean when we talk about gender – whether it is biological sex, a socially constructed role we perform, a personal identity or a combination of all three – it is fluid."

It was very informative but kinda slow in the beginning when it is talking about biological sex. I think if you already know a lot about gender and sex it won't be that useful to you. I liked learning the historical aspect of how gender roles changed over time.
Graphic: Sexism, Transphobia
They talk about sexism and transphobia in society but in a lot more of s education way
Great book about gender and gender roles throughout history and how different societies have viewed it differently.
It mostly touches on how gender is seen in the Western worlds and where it has come from and that was interesting, but I have to say, I liked the most the parts where they talked who gender has been seen in non-Western societies. I had heard about some of them in my researches before but some of them were totally new to me and they really show how backward our Western understanding of gender is.
So I really think, whether you know a lot about gender and its history or you are first time reaching nonbinary gender, it's a great and a quite quick read.
