I am a HUGE Castle fan but I couldn't even get through this book. It is just not good and I won't be adding this to my reading list.

I went in knowing that this probably wasn't going to be as entertaining as the TV show "Caste," but this book was bland. I wasn't interested in the mystery, nor did I feel any suspense. Somehow, even though they're fictional, the main characters don't have any chemistry.

I listened to the audiobook on double speed. I had an issue with the narrator. It sounded monotone, and I stuggled to tell who was talking at times.

It wasn't the best book ever but it is a cute, fun read to go along with the show. I liked being able to picture the actors as the characters in the book. I'll read the other one too because I love the show!

I'm not sure if it's because of the style of writing, or the nature of the book, but when I first started reading this book, I was really let down by the quality (or seeming lack) of the writing. But as I got into the story more, it either got better or I got used to it. I don't read many thriller/mysteries, and had just finished reading a large fantasy novel, so that could have clouded my view.
In all, I really enjoyed the book. I was totally picturing Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) as the main characters (Jameson Rook and Nikki Heat, respectively), as well as the other characters in the TV show, as their book counterparts the entire time. "Richard Castle" obviously took "real life" and put a very think gloss over the top to come up with the book's characters. It was almost as though I was reading an episode of Castle, with *spoiler alert* the addition of the romantic and physical relationship of the two main characters. I can totally see the relationship happening in the show, but not quite yet. Richard Castle's subconscious longings were obviously coming into play during the writing of this book.

I loved reading a book by an tv actor author. I love the television series Castle and this was a great tie in with it. I hope there is more.

I watched Castle and couldn't help but read the first book. I believe it was even the first book I purchased on my Kindle. Not a good start. It wasn't terrible but it just wasn't good either. I suspect people who were not writers for the series wrote it, and it would have been better if they had. Having Castle actually be a good writer would have benefitted the show.
