I’ve never read anything like this series.
The author manages to put you inside the minds of the characters whilst they are experiencing incredibly traumatic things.
I highly recommend this series, however there are many trigger warnings throughout!

Where do I even start. This vilume left me feeling sick and distraught. It opens with Seiichi imagining himself as his mother and thinking about how he wishes he was never been born, because he believes it is because of him that his mother was driven to trying to kill Shigeru. He saw himself as the one pushing her to try and kill him. This part where he imagined himself as her was deeply troubling and led to him killing Shigeru as a form of killing himself. In this way he was able to become truly empty and leave behind all that he had been through. It’s so sad and disheartening to read this. The artwork gets the point across so well though and is truly outstanding and unique in its presentation. Seiichi is then taken into custody and placed in a detention center. Here he begins to feel like he is truly empty but then the thought of his mother/moth, enters him and he is back to thinking about her. Let’s see where this all goes, but I really don’t know if there will be a happy end. I gave this volume 3 stars because for me its both a 1 star and 5 star book.

Damn this volume was the darkest one yet. We see Seiichi completely unravelling—the extent at which his mom has truly poisoned his mind can clearly be seen here. Feels a little bit like we are entering unreliable narrator territory as well (or were we in this space all along?).
The illustration in this volume specifically was truly horrifying—the dead look in Seiichi's eyes, the image he has of his mother, the look of someone truly fracturing.

This one was super fast. Wow. This is the strangest.
This one made me so angry and so shocked! I wasn't expecting the Shigeru twist. And the dad annoys me still!
