I knew this book would be powerful, but I had underestimated how much. Chanel Miller is my new favorite author. I hope she goes on to live a long fulfilling writing career like she always dreamed, because her writing is magnificent. This book felt emotionally gory, I felt parts of myself breaking as I read. The court cases she detailed traumatized me. I am not a book crier, and I openly sobbed during many chapters. I need everyone to read this book. It is necessary. Chanel Miller was forced into an unchosen and infinitely painful post-grad existence, but she has left behind a legacy we all have a duty to acknowledge and advocate for.
