I thought sure I'd read this before, and, turns out, I have. It's in Tales From Outer Suburbia (of which I'd like two copies. One to keep and one to tear out the artwork and hang all over my home).
I'm happy to see this got its own volume.
It's such a sweet story!

Reading the other reviews I’m not sure it hit other people as hard has it hit me cos I haven’t stop crying since I read it. It was so beautiful.
I love little Eric and this has to be one of my most favourite short stories I’ve ever read.

Short illustrated book has such an endearing story and great pictures that it quickly wins you over and then keeps you invested into the story - quite memorable and a great tale for all ages and all times.

A lovely little book, about a story of a 'foreign student' whose cultural differences we don't understand, but still respect and find beautiful all the same.
