jenbertface's review against another edition
There were a lot of cringe moments in this book, but my final straw was when the lead male character pretended to be the boyfriend of the lead female character with no warning to her high school ex boyfriend, with absolutely no explanation in his own mind as to why he thought that would be beneficial in this situation. Then he kissed her in the middle of this scenario and that was when I had to DNF.
Minor: Sexual assault, Stalking, and Eating disorder
I was deeply disappointed by how dumb this book was. Towards the end of my time reading it, almost every page had something that made me roll my eyes. The two lead characters were so stereotypical that they were boring. They could not speak to each other without using sarcastic rude comments. The premise that meant a high schooler needed to be involved felt icky. It was exhausting.katewheels13's review against another edition
The love spell situation gave me major ick. Whether it is absolved or not the main character basically set out to magically roofie/date rape the boy she supposedly cared about. This happens within the first few chapters.
Moderate: Sexual assault
