My son and I read these together and they are always fun.  This was made up of completely original characters and it all worked pretty well.  It's colorful and exciting. We both liked it.

We covered this series over on Howe's Things: https://soundcloud.com/allthebooks/from-the-stacks-art-baltazar-franco-and-a-few-transformers

The simple short stories and Baltazar’s simple smooth shapes and bold inking makes this volume truly a collection of all-age comics. Within stories fit for the attention span and interest of the youngest readers are subtle jokes referring to electronic games, copyright, comic book splash pages, and comics by other artists, that will be appreciated by older readers. I for one, found the elusive Goojie-Nana, for whom the comics’ heroes unsuccessfully search throughout the book, very reminiscent of [a:Kate Beaton|2921970|Kate Beaton|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1318610112p2/2921970.jpg]’s infamously cute pony.

The stories and art are more than the collaboration between Baltazar and Franco Aureliani. The title page acknowledges twenty other contributors that follow the original author-illustrators styles.
