All the stars ✨ This was a fabulous story. Two of the best main characters ever. Crazy ass controlling family keeps trying to ruin these two during the entire book but nothing stops them. Cord and Anne are now my fav book couple. Only disappointment was no real epilogue at the end.

Compelling story. Really compelling story. But the writing? A mess. All tell, no show. I spent the bulk of the story regretting the fact that an editor or really vocal critique partner didn't get their hands on this story. What it could have been.....
- This book came highly recommended on Reddit and I felt a little let down. It was pretty slow and honestly most of it was uninteresting.
- I thought the ending was very sweet and overall I’m glad I read it

sometimes i want to wipe my memory so i can read a book for the first time again. i think this is one of the only books i don't feel that way about - i swear it gets better each time i re-read it.
-------------------------------------------
apparently it's been over 4 years since i re-read this one, which i just cannot believe. it was a joy to be back in this world.
-------------------------------------------
i literally have over 300 books on my kindle, not including ARCs and kindle unlimited books... plus I have like 200 physical books at home. so many books, so little time, so what do i do?
re-read this one. and it was just as beautiful as the first time. freaking adore cord and annie. now i need to read the little novellas again because there is no epilogue and i need more of those two.
-------------------------------------------
oh wow. happy sigh. what an emotional book.
at first, i wasn't in love with this book. the writing is a bit odd and the way the story is told i was like wait, slow down! we are at this spot already? wait, did you just gloss over something really important in one line? how the hell is this going to be a good book if it's like 20% and we are already in this spot? but then i fell in love and told myself to shut up. i got used to the writing and fell in love with it. loved the way the story is told, loved the characters, loved the banter and the thoughts and the everything.
very ragey that there was no epilogue though. guess i'll have to continue with the next two books and hope i get some glimpses of anne and cord.
i have nothing else to say that hasn't already been said. absolutely recommend.
favourite quote - i am sure this is most people's favourite quote from this book as it was just so smooshy and lovely:

Maybe occasionally the gods designed a woman fit for a king or a prince and gave her to an ordinary man. Maybe they did such a thing once in a while, knowing an ordinary man would treasure her more, love her better. Maybe they even let him keep her—for a while.
