This is one of my favorite classics. It is hilarious. The ridiculous personalities of these men and their dog will have you laughing out loud a number of times and very amused for the rest. I love that I can relate and laugh over something written 130 years ago - some things transcend time... like peeling potatoes, a cat intimidating a dog, and worrying about the horrible disease you (obviously) have after reading WebMD.

If you have read and enjoyed 44 Scotland Street by Alexander McCall Smith, you will enjoy this. If you need a clear plot and purpose though, this isn't for you. It is just 3 men boating down the Thames telling each other stories.

I didn't expect to love this book as much as I did! An easy 5 stars, and definitely one I'd like to reread soon.

This book has been on my radar for many years since as a teen I saw the BBC series Three Men In A Boat where three comedians retrace the journey.

I had always been curious about the book, and fancying a short read I finally read it. It was an amusing and enjoyable book but I don't know I expected more to it. It wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing either. I was expecting it to be more funny like The Diary of A Nobody.

Happy to have finally read this, but I dont think I would read it again.

And with this book my reading challenge for 2023 has been completed. I was doing superbly until I discovered anime in April lol.
