I didn’t know much about Botswana before reading this collection of short stories, but each story shared another layer of the experience of growing up and living in the country. The writing is gorgeous and descriptive, and the audiobook narration complemented the book very well.

I am trying to get more into short stories! I am not quite there yet, but I for sure appreciated this author's spiky, particular women characters and how fully situated in place they all felt. I have been thinking more about place in fiction, and Moeng did a tremendous job of evoking not just the settings of her stories, but what they meant to each character. loved that.
