It is a book about writers who walk and happen to be women. The focus is not on the walking experience but writing styles. The author could not even find the surface to scratch. The female experience is barely discussed. Challenges of hiking in different time periods completely ignored.
I expected a book about trail blazing bad ass women. Maybe some of these women are, but the author does not bother to enlighten the reader.

Boring; read like a bad university essay.
