I'm about as bad at compliments as Elliot, but this book deserves all of 'em. It is sweet and funny and brave and a bit mean and cruel to the heart. Honestly, I felt stabbed and betrayed by some of the heartbreak this novel offers. But, ultimately, I like that sort of thing.

Even knowing (most of) the plot from reading (and re-reading) the serialization, it still took me by surprise. But that is Sarah Rees Brennan for you; every line is surprising or hilarious or thought-provoking—sometimes all three at once. And she subverts literary "tropez" like no one else.

Elliot gives voice to so many insecurities and truths about growing up and learning to love healthily and it's, well, it's really incredible. I'm thinking only nice and kind things with goodwill to all.

Please buy/borrow In Other Lands posthaste so we might one day cry and laugh over the continued adventures of Elliot, Luke, Serene, and Golden (and Adara! and Captain Woodsinger! and all the Sunborns!).

Oh my god this was so cute??? Amazing characterisation, I think I'd give my firstborn for a sequel because I did not want this story to end.

Eu nem sei o que falar sobre esse livro, eu tô tão apaixonada que me faltam palavras, ele é maravilhoso!!

Os personagens são incríveis e apaixonantes, o Elliot é tão engraçado com o jeito sarcástico dele, mas também tem todo um outro lado que faz você se identificar muito, muitas vezes você quer sacudir ele porque ele também é um filho da puta, mas muitas outras você só queria poder abraçar e ser amiga dele, o Luke é completamente apaixonante, tão doce e o completo oposto do que deveria ser, mas também tem um lado sarcástico que torna ele engraçado, já a Serene é não intencionalmente engraçada trazendo toda a crítica ao machismo com a sua cultura elfica que é o completo oposto da nossa, ela também é incrível!! Até os personagens secundários são interessantes e bem desenvolvidos, é muito bom você conseguir ver a evolução deles ao longo do livro!!

Por falar em crítica, esse livro fala de assuntos tão importantes de uma maneira tão leve e divertida, como solidão, abandono, preconceito, guerra e o mais óbvio o machismo, e faz de uma forma tão bem feita!!
Ele é tão engraçado, ele é muito engraçado, chega quase no limite do exagero, mas nunca ultrapassa, eu ri o tempo todo!!

Eu nem tenho o que falar mal, a única coisa que me irritou as vezes foi o jeito que o Elliot tratava o Luke, como o Elliot era tão inteligente, mas tão burro as vezes, e o Luke nunca ter mandado o Elliot para o inferno como deveria ter feito várias vezes, mas tudo isso é compreensível e não chegou perto de fazer esse livro não ser 5 estrelas + favoritadissimo, só gostaria de que o casal tivesse um pouco de mais desenvolvimento!!

Estou deprimida por não ter mais nada desse universo e desses personagens para ler!!
